Thank you to all my students. I truly appreciate your choice to patronize Nantucket Martial Arts Alliance. 2021 was my second full year at my Windy Way location, and in July I finally started teaching full time. This was a long time goal, and anyone who took even 1 class at Windy Way helped make it happen. I'm always looking for better ways to serve my students. Please feel free to send suggestions on how I can improve my offerings, or make training more approachable. I also need your assistance on one more thing. There's still confusion on whether I use 150 Old South Rd. Steve Tornovish operated the Krav Maga training center there, but he stopped around 2014. Please go to yelp.com and search for Krav Maga Training Center of Nantucket. Then click Edit next to the business name, and click I'm a customer. Take a moment to type in the following edits.
Business Name: Nantucket Martial Arts Alliance
Address: 3B Windy Way

The more people who do this, the better. I hope to stop the calls and texts for Steve. For details on how I ended up at Windy Way, see my first 2 blog posts.
In another effort to reduce confusion, I'll require all students to register online for every class starting in January. This will let everyone see how small or crowded the class will be. Only so many people can train together safely in my small space. No walk-ins will be allowed, and cash will no longer be accepted. All payments must be made online, or by check made out to Nantucket Martial Arts. Only new students, or someone booking private training will be able to buy single sessions. All others will need to purchase a class pass or monthly plan. To make this easier I'm reducing prices and adding options, including the ability to pay with PayPal. Students will be able to pay up front for an entire year. The cost for 1 person will be $2500, or $260 per month. Someone training 3 times a week will save roughly $1,000, or roughly $600 if paying monthly. The cost for a family will be $3,750, or $390 per month. A family training 4 times a week will save roughly $1,000, or roughly $300 if paying monthly.
This year I worked with Advanced Embroidery in Hyannis to create hats, t-shirts and hooded sweatshirts with my logo. In the future I hope to offer more items and color choices. I'm currently working with Combat Corner to create high performance training apparel with my logo. I partnered with Revgear to offer their products at a discount. They make the striking pads I use in youth and adult Krav Maga. This will help students safely practice at home. I continued working with Studio 61, the local UPS Store's graphic design and printing studio.
Through the year I held belt testing for Kids Krav students. This is to acknowledge their consistent hard work, and celebrate their new knowledge and skills. I traveled to competitions with Adult Brazilian Jiu Jitsu students, and we brought back a few medals. In August/September I ran a Teen Girls Self Defense Course, which led to a weekly class. In the new year this will become a Women's Self Defense Class, open to all females aged 13+. In October I attended a seminar at Fit to Fight Headquarters in Charlotte, NC. I've decided to affiliate with this great organization, which will grant easy access to a curriculum, and top quality training. Thank you again to everyone who helped make 2021 such a success at Nantucket Martial Arts Alliance.
Wishing you health and happiness,
Jules Embry-Pelrine
